Susan Kirkpatrick

Susan Kirkpatrick is Executive Vice President & CFO of Buddy Moore Trucking, Inc. She graduated from Auburn University with a BA in International Business/Spanish. She also holds an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Susan was employed with AmSouth Bank from 1985-2000 serving in a variety of middle management positions in accounting, commercial loan operations, and bank operations. At the time of her departure from AmSouth, she was Vice President, Manager of DDA/Savings Exceptions. She joined Buddy Moore Trucking as Executive Vice President & CFO when it was founded in 2000. Susan served on the Alabama Trucking Association Board of Directors for two years, and has served on the ATA Comp Fund Board of Trustees since April 2016. Susan is the current Chair for our ATA Comp Fund Board.

Chris Hornady

Chris Hornady is the CEO of Hornady Transportation, a Monroeville, Alabama-based flatbed trucking company with more than 90 years of history. After attending the University of South Alabama, Chris went to work for the namesake company, which was started by his grandfather, G.E. Hornady in 1928. It was later run by Chris’ father — B.C. Hornady, who expanded the company’s territory to 28 states east of the Rockies.  In 2001, Chris became president of the company, a position he held for 18 years before becoming CEO of Hornady Transportation. In 2015 Hornady Transportation became a Daseke company --  the largest flatbed and specialized transportation company in North America. Chris is currently serving as a Board Director with the Alabama Trucking Association Foundation. Previously, he has served on the Board of Directors for Daseke and has been involved with the non-profit organization, United Way. He has also served on the Board of Directors for United Bank. Chris has been married to his wife Pat for more than 26 years, and enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time at the beach with his family.  He has served as a trustee for the ATA Work Comp Fund since 2019, and is the current Vice-Chair of the Board.

Scott Smith

Scott is CEO and co-founder of PS Logistics, headquartered in Birmingham, AL. He graduated Cum Laude from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Transportation. Scott worked for Boyd Brothers Transportation, Inc. for a total of five years. Scott was serving as Birmingham Terminal Manager at the time of his departure from Boyd Brothers. He worked for Deaton, Inc. for six years and served as Vice President of Fleet Management and continued in that role subsequent to the acquisition of Deaton by Western Express, Inc. In 2004 he co-founded P & S Transportation, Inc.  Scott is a Past Chairman of the ATA Comp Fund Board of Trustees.

Rusty Sprouse

Rusty Sprouse is the Chief Financial Officer for B & G Supply Co., Inc. in Albertville, AL. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting from Jacksonville State University. After serving as a loan officer at a local bank, Mr. Sprouse came to work for the company in 1985 and has served in various capacities with the company including dispatch, safety, operations and corporate controller. He has been an active member of the Alabama Trucking Association serving as Golf Chairman for the annual convention and the TRUK-PAC Classic, which is the primary fundraiser for the Association’s political action committee. He has served on the Board of Directors of the ATA Comp Fund since 2008, including two years as Vice-Chairman and two years as Chairman.

Mike Limbaugh

Mike Limbaugh is the owner of White Oak Transportation, Inc. based in Decatur, AL. He started White Oak Transportation with three tractors delivering dedicated routes for a single customer in Decatur, a customer that he continues to do business with to this day.  Before starting his own business, Mr. Limbaugh worked for Ryder and Xtra Lease in various sales and management positions.  Mike and Robin have been married for over 20 years and have two children: a son and a daughter. The entire family enjoys sports, boating and Auburn football.  He currently sits on the board of Safe Trucking Insurance Limited, is a past President and current board member of Decatur High School Booster Club, and is an active member in his Church.  Mike has been an active member of the Alabama Trucking Association and the ATA Comp Fund for nearly 18 years.

Drew Linn

Drew Linn is the President of Southland International Trucks, Inc. He graduated from Jacksonville State University with a bachelor’s degree. Drew began his career in 1971 with International Harvester Company, and by 1977, he had acquired his first dealership. Having grown to locations in Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Homewood, Birmingham & Huntsville, Alabama, Southland International Trucks has been recognized as American Truck Dealer of the Year, International Dealer of the Year and IC Bus Dealer of the year. Drew is a founding member of the ATA Comp Fund, and has been active in the Alabama Trucking Association since 1979.

Bruce MacDonald

Bruce MacDonald is President and Principal Owner of Carrier Transicold South. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a BS degree in Management. Previously, Bruce served as President and Principal Owner with Cummins Alabama, Inc. for 30 years before selling it in 2003. Bruce has served on the Alabama Trucking Association Board of Directors for more than 30 years, and has served as its Chairman and Treasurer. He was the recipient of the H. Chester Webb award from the Alabama Trucking Association in 2002. He has served on the ATA Comp Fund Board of Trustees as Chairman twice (1995-97 and 2009-11), and as a Trustee since inception of the program.

Beau Wicks

Beau Wicks is the owner of Southeast Logistics, Inc. in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Mr. Wicks worked for Randall Publishing Company for 8 years, serving in various positions including staff accountant, division controller, and corporate controller. He then worked for Cummings Trucking Company as its vice - president and controller. In 1998 Beau founded Southeast Logistics. He currently serves on The Board of Directors of Capstone Bank, and formerly served on The Board of First Federal Bank of Tuscaloosa and Focus on Senior Citizens. Mr. Wicks has also been an active community volunteer, serving numerous civic organizations including The West Alabama Chamber of Commerce, The United Way, and The Boys Scouts of America. He has served as a trustee for the ATA Work Comp Fund since 2005, including two years as Chairman.

Mark Colson

Mark Colson is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Alabama Trucking Association (ATA).  As Alabama’s top executive for trucking, he travels across the state building relationships that grow and foster the industry’s mission, while working closely with policymakers in Montgomery and Washington D.C.  Prior to leading the Alabama Trucking Association, Mark advocated for Alabama’s business community serving various leadership roles at the Business Council of Alabama (BCA), Alabama’s state chamber of commerce, including Interim President, Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs, and Chief of Staff.  He’s a graduate of Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Ala. He serves as a member of the Huntingdon College Board of Trustees and was recently inducted into the Huntingdon Athletics Hall of Fame (Football). He also holds an MBA from Troy University. He is a member of the board of directors for the United Methodist Children’s Home. 

Tom McLeod

Tom McLeod is the President and CEO of McLeod Software, which he founded in 1985.  Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, McLeod Software has provided powerful transportation management and trucking software solutions to the trucking industry.  Tom is a thought leader in the transportation industry, specifically on the use of current and upcoming information technology to support trucking and brokerage operations.  Mr. McLeod has long been active in the American Trucking Association, the Truckload Carriers Association, and the Alabama Trucking Association and has held leadership positions in the same.  

G. Fenn Church

Fenn is the President and owner of Church Transportation & Logistics, Inc., based in Birmingham, AL. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation and earned his MBA in Transportation from the University of Tennessee. Fenn spent 7 years with Saia Motor Freight Line in Management and 6 years in operations and sales with AAA Cooper Transportation. He founded Church Transportation and Logistics, Inc. in March of 2000. In addition to Church Transportation & Logistics, Fenn is the Executive Director of ClasTran, a paratransit service that provides transportation to handicap and elderly passengers in Jefferson, Shelby and Walker Counties.  Fenn is a past Chairman of the Alabama Trucking Association.
