Ricardo Fuentes joined Alliance Interstate Risk (AIR) in 2026 as a Risk Manager, providing safety consulting, regulatory guidance, and loss control services to member motor carriers in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana. He works closely with transportation companies to strengthen safety culture, improve compliance, and reduce crash and injury risks across commercial fleet operations.
With more than 25 years of experience in transportation safety, risk management, and DOT compliance, Ricardo previously held senior private-sector roles overseeing safety programs for commercial motor vehicle operations. Earlier, he served as a California Highway Patrol officer conducting commercial vehicle enforcement, collision investigations, and cargo theft investigations. His background also includes service in the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve as an aircrew member on B-52 bombers and HH-60 helicopters, including combat search and rescue missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Ricardo holds a Master of Arts in Addiction Studies from the University of the Cumberlands and is a Certified Safety Manager through the National Association of Safety Professionals. He is also a Certified Director of Safety (CDS) instructor with NATMI and a qualified CVSA instructor in hazardous materials transportation and driver fatigue management. His work centers on helping motor carriers advance safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
Ricardo lives in the Nashville area with his wife, Luz, and enjoys hiking, flying drones, and exploring the outdoors.
