FMCSA Delays Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT)

FMCSA Delays Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) rule until February 2022

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has announced it is extending the compliance date for the Minimum Training Requirements for Entry-Level Commercial Motor Vehicle Operators (ELDT final rule) from February 2020 to February 2022.

An essential part of the ruling is the Training Provider Registry (TPR), an online tool that will receive and store ELDT certification information.  The delay of the ruling will allow time for the TPR to be completed and give time for integration with State Driver License Agencies.
